During this week, we have started investigating shelters in DT. We began by researching the different types of air raid shelters that were designed and used in WW2. Anderson and Morrison shelters were two of the most common types. We then went on to investigate how to make strong structures and how to alter the shape of a sheet material to give it greater strength.
Today we tested a variety of materials for their durability and waterproof properties, to help us think about the best materials we might choose to make our own shelters to protect a family of four playmobile people.
