Welcome to Year 6! We’re looking forward to an exciting and memorable year with the children as they take this important final step in primary school and begin preparing for their transition to high school.

Year 6 is a special year, with lots of opportunities for children to grow in confidence, independence and maturity. Alongside maintaining high expectations for their academic progress, we aim to provide a wide range of experiences that support their personal and social development.

There are plenty of exciting opportunities to look forward to throughout the year. These usually include our outdoor activity residential to Lockerbie, Bikeability training, Enterprise Week, our end of year production and Citizenship Week, to name just a few! You’ll find out more about these activities as the year progresses. In the meantime, why not take a look at the ‘Previous Year 6’ blog in the School Life section of the website to see some of the highlights from previous years?

You can also use the drop-down menu on the left-hand side to find our Year 6 class blog. This is where you’ll find lots of information, news and updates about what we’ve been getting up to in Year 6.

Below, you’ll find information about what we’ll be learning each term. Please note that these sections will be updated as each new term begins. For now, we’ve left some of last year’s information in place so that you can get a flavour of the learning, activities and experiences that may be ahead.
