Potato challenge!
We are very excited to see how much our potato plants have grown. We watered them every day when it was hot and now we are watching the rain water them. We have found out what a plant needs to help it grow strong.

Going on a walk
This week we have heard the story of “Rosie’s Walk.” In Nursery we use the hall each week and this week we linked our movements to how Rosie the hen moved. We love the space to run about.

Growing
Our new topic is all about things that grow. We are learning the rhyme “Mary, Mary, quite contrary.” We used natural materials to make a garden we would like to grow.

Learning outside
We go outside whatever the weather. This week we have been using sticks to make shapes.

Easter
This week we have listened to the Easter story. After looking at pictures of Easter gardens we made a cross using spring flowers.

Experimenting.
We have been scientist. We have found lots of natural materials and been making potions and seeing what happens to them when we mix them all up.

Outdoors
Each week we are going to put on our wellies and go for a walk under the trees. This week we have been exploring. Some children weren’t very keen to walk in the mud. We will be helping each other to make a den next week using our teamwork and super kind hands to share resources.

The Great Bird Count
This year we sprinkled some cake crumbs to attract the birds. We saw two gulls, two crows and one child saw an owl!

Abbeystead Angel trail
Our Angel is taking shape ready for the Abbeystead Angel trail next weekend. Nursery’s Angel with all its beautiful handprint wings will be on display on the way to Abbeystead from Quernmore not far past Jubilee Tower. There will be lots of other Angels on display in Abbeystead…

Remembering n November
This week we have talked about poppies and how they are a reminder of people who have died in wars. The children helped to make poppy prints which will be put up at the front of school. Have a look for them.
