In English we are reading the wonderful book, ‘The Street Beneath My Feet’ by Charlotte Guillain and writing our own explanation text about what can be found underground.  We have learnt about insects, burrowing animals, different types of rocks and mineral, the sewers (yuck!) and beautiful rock formations in caves. Today we learnt all about coal and how it was formed. We enjoyed looking in the original book to see what else is mentioned and shown. The illustrations are amazing and the book is really unusual in the way it unfolds. We spotted loads of new details!
