Jonny, from NISCU, joined us on his prayer walk today. He was greeted like a celebrity and the children were delighted that he'd worn his onesie just for our school. He prayed for the school, our children and staff and the wider community. Thank you Jonny - it was great to see you!

We really enjoyed Mabel’s pet tortoise coming for a visit today. We learnt lots of interesting facts about what he eats, how you look after him and that he has just been hibernating over the winter months. 
We didn’t realise how fast he could move either!

We really enjoyed our local walk through the woods and onto the field. We looked at the nature around us, we talked, we laughed and we played lots of fun games. To make us feel even better ....the sun was shining ! Hooray

Today the children took part in the Lancaster and District Schools’ Singing Festival at the Ashton Hall in Lancaster. They sang beautifully, remembered all the words and actions and even learnt some sign language too. What a credit to the school they all were. Well done Y4, we are really proud of…

We loved having Holly’s pet dog in today. We found out all about how to look later dogs, what he eats and what he likes. We asked lots of interesting questions.

What a glorious day for planting trees! The Eco-group donned their wellies and gardening gloves this afternoon and went down to the school field with their spades and trowels. Hilary from the Friends of Dorrington Woods joined us there to show us how to plant different types of saplings - potted…

Thank you to Mrs Kornas who brought in their beautiful pet guinea pigs. We learnt all about how they care for them , what they eat and where they sleep. We all had the option to give them a stroke too! 

Thank you to Mr Sowerby who came in to tell us how he helps us. He brought in lots of equipment and showed us how he used them. We thoroughly enjoyed listening. Thank you

Eco group have been looking at the possibility of planting some trees on our school field. Today we went down to the field with Hilary from Dorrington Woods, who came to help us measure out a suitable area. We drew a plan and calculated how many trees we will need to order.

We enjoyed listening to the Firemen from Lancaster about their job and how they help people. We asked some great questions e.g where do you get the water from ? We learnt lots of new facts. 

Thank you to Mrs Kornas who came to talk to us today about how she helps people in her job. We had just excellent questions to ask her!
