Today, we have been learning about thermal insulation. We have carried out an investigation to find out which materials keep ice pops frozen for the longest time. We chose three different materials and kept one of our ice pops unwrapped as the ‘control’. We found out that bubble wrap was a great thermal insulator as it is made up of lots of layers. It traps the cold air from the ice pop and prevents it from escaping and it stops the warmer outer air from melting the ice pop. Our classroom must have been cold as it took all afternoon for the ice pops to melt!
