Today we were joined by three expert outdoor teachers.  They set us the challenge to build a bird’s nest for a pigeon and its egg. We had to make our nest sturdy and strong, waterproof, and wind proof. We worked in groups and could use materials that we found in the outdoor area. We had to be very creative. At the end, each nest was tested to see how strong, waterproof and wind proof it was. All of the nests were brilliant. Back in the classroom we watched a film showing real bird’s nests. We were AMAZED at the variety. We decided that birds must be very skilful to make nests using just their beaks and claws.
