As part of multi-cultural week, in Year 3 we have been learning about batik making. Batiks use wax and dye on fabric to create beautiful patterns and shapes. It is made across the world but particularly linked to Indonesia, Java, China, and some African countries. We were inspired by the work we have been doing on the rainforest and based our designs on animals and plants found there. We have lots of support to help paint on the hot, melted wax. Today we started to paint our fabric. We are very pleased with the results so far.
