Year 6 were set the challenge of designing a parachute which would provide the slowest and safest descent for our 'person'. They could change the size of parachute, the material it was made from or the string length before carrying out a fair test, keeping all other variables the same. Once the parachutes were made, the children timed, recorded and photographed their investigation. Then they used the results to drawn conclusions about the forces in action and how these influenced their results.
