After learning about Georges Seurat and his unique style of painting (Pointillism), we designed and starting painting our own pictures using techniques inspired by Seurat.
We decided that optical mixing was more effective on larger canvases with smaller dots of paint, as Seurat did, however, as we knew we were working with smaller spaces and larger tools for painting the dots than he was, we opted for mixing colours in the palette instead. We thought carefully about the shades of colour we created, and how to use these to create lighter and darker tones in our work.
Our paintings are still 'works in progress' but please enjoy the slideshow of us starting to bring our designs to life!
