What a busy day Year 6 had on World Book Day! We had some great costumes on show including Phileas Fogg, Gandalf, an Oompa Loompa, Thing One and Thing Two and a couple of Harry Potters, to name just a few!

After our whole school Book Day quiz, we returned to the classroom which had been turned into a Book Cafe. There we had time to share our favourite books with children from our class and Year 5 whilst enjoying biscuits and hot chocolate. We finished this event with a "Book Speed Date" where we had to quickly look at the covers and read the blurb of a book.  After 20 seconds we moved onto the next book.  At the end we had to say which books we fancied reading next! The most popular choice turned out to be Gangster Grannie, followed by a beautiful general knowledge book and The Boy at the Back of the Class.

Many of us also entered the vegetable book character competition with some very inventive ideas.
