After several weeks of work, Year 6 have finally finished their multi-layer printing project, just in time to turn them into their Christmas cards.

Year 6 have been working hard all week, to produce items to sell at the Christmas Fair today. This week, we have been adding the second layer of printing to our Christmas cards. It was tricky to work out what colour would be best to choose next!

This week, Year 6 have been learning how to make short- crust pastry, with the help of Mrs Anderson - one of our school governors. They used their new baking skill to make mince pies to sell at the Christmas Fair.

Today we have combined history with our computing skills to work on creating slideshows on the topic of evacuation in WW2. We used Google Classroom to work in pairs on the same slideshow, but on different Chromebooks.

Today, we began our printing project, with the final product being our Christmas cards. The first stage involves making a simple print block and choosing the ink colour for the base of our design. It was really exciting to peel back and reveal our first print!

They told us about different aspects of keeping healthy, such as healthy eating, good sleep habits, exercise, personal hygiene and mental health. Year 6 took their maths lesson out into the sunshine this morning. Before looking at formal written methods of addition and subtraction next week, we reminded ourselves of mental strategies and jottings we can use to help us solve problems. We worked in pairs to have a go at some examples.
