Across school today, each year group has enjoyed exploring their learning through Drew Daywalt's wonderful story: The Day the Crayons Quit!
In Year 2, we explored synonyms for the names of the colours, and created colour thesauruses on the computer using the application 'Paint'. We started off by drawing lines to create sections, being careful not to leave any gaps that could spill the colour into other areas! We explored the full spectrum of colours and shades and chose one for each section of the grid we had created. After we had filled a section, we added text to the boxes to show the name of the colour, being careful to use the colour chart to correctly name them using the synonyms. We were even lucky enough to be visited by our computing subject lead who came to see our brilliant learning! Thanks Mr Manning!
Finally, we shared our learning at the end of the day where the whole school gathered together to enjoy what we had all done!
What a brilliantly bright and colourful day we have had at Scotforth- and we've all found a story that we can share and enjoy together!
