In Year 5, we have started a new unit in English - poetry.  We have discussed what we think poetry is and what features you might find in a poem.  We have also read, discussed and performed different poems.  Each group was given a poem to read and investigate together.  We talked about which words/lines we liked best and why, puzzles we might have about the poem, what pictures it created in our minds and also what we thought the poet was trying to say.  We then shared our poems and our ideas with the rest of the class.  Even though we only had two sessions to prepare our presentations we think we did a really good job reciting the poems for the rest of the class and, as a class we enjoyed the variety of poems.  We hope you enjoy them too!
