We had a fantastic day today, visiting Williamson Park. We visited the Butterfly House where we learned about the life cycle of butterflies and also different habitats. It was a chance to experience the conditions in a rainforest, which is our current geography topic.  We also handled some of the amazing animals from the zoo - an African snail, a bean stick insect and a bearded dragon.  They were amazing up close!  Outside, we visited the meerkats and the Guinea pigs. They were as interested in us as we were in them!  We then did a mini beast search in the woodland area and found loads of animals, including a newt!!  Afternoon lunch and ice-creams we had loads of fun playing in the park before our long walk back.  We had amazing weather (one of the hottest and sunniest days of the year!) so took things slowly and had lots of breaks in the shade.  What a full, fun-packed day! Thank you to all our parent helpers who made it possible.
