Today, we were recapping on the oceans of the world and the continents. We had a go at completing a jigsaw of the world and then we labelled it. This proved quite challenging but we persevered. 

Today, we have been completing some group games and worked as a team. We had to listen, communicate and encourage each other. We used the parachute to work together as a whole class. We had a great time.

We spent the afternoon with Coach Dan learning how to bowl and aim at a target. By the end of the afternoon, our crown green bowling skills had certainly improved.

We had a great session with some coaches from Wigan Warriors Rugby Club. They taught us how to pass, catch and score a try.

Today, we have used an atlas to locate the different countries, capital cities and other cities that are within the United Kingdom. We have also identified the different bodies of water that surround the UK.

Today, we took part in a taster cricket session to see if we would like to take it up as a sport. We had a go at hitting the ball from a raised stump and from the ground. It gave us a chance to practise our hand/eye coordination. 

What a great day we have had! We read lots of new books, adapted a traditional tale, played a character game, completed a quiz with Y1 and drew a knight by following ‘Draw with Rob’. Our costumes were fantastic too! 

We had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day. We worked well with y5s on our book quiz, Ring o read and creating our book covers. 

We have been evaluating different gymnastic sequences today. We had to include a mirrored image, a matched image, a counter balance and a tension counter balance. We observed whether each group had included various heights, synchronised actions and all the key element we have practised in our…

We worked in small groups to choose a scene out of ‘The Highwayman’ poem. Then we decided which character we each were and freeze framed the scene.

We went on a hunt around the classroom looking at a variety of different Anglo-Saxon sources. We decided if each piece of evidence was a primary or secondary source.

We have looked at the timeline of when Christianity spread throughout Anglo-Saxon England. We discussed the key people who influenced this.
