In geography we have been learning about the 4 countries that make up the UK.  We have learnt about the capital cities, the different flags, patron saints and each country's emblem.  Today we focused on counties.  We found out that each country within the UK is divided into counties.  There are lots of them!  We knew some of their names from having visited or gone on holiday to different places.  Lots of us recognised Cornwall and we all knew about our own county - Lancashire.  Some of us were even born in different counties.  There were lots of names that we have never even heard of though!  We worked in pairs on a challenge and used maps and geographical clues to work out the locations of the all different counties in England and Wales.  It took a lot of concentration, resilience and focus but we did it!
