We have carried out a variety of investigations to understand and learn more about friction.

Today we talked about it being a special day and looked inside Mrs Atkinson's shopping bag. She had flour, eggs, milk and fruit. We chatted about how we are getting ready for Easter and learnt a new pancake song,

Mix a pancake,

Stir a pancake,

Pop it in a pan.

Fry the pancake,

Toss…

Year 4 and 5 girls attended a football morning at the University of Cumbria. They learnt new skills and played some matches. 

Yesterday, we had a special visitor in our class.....an African Land Snail! We looked at what it ate, it’s habitat and  it’s shell. We learnt lots of facts and thought of lots of questions. 

Year 6 have been learning how to ride their bikes safely on the roads with the help of the Go Velo Bikeability instructors. First they practised on the school playground before venturing out onto the local streets.

We had lots of fun whilst playing outside this morning. The sunshine inspired us to make an ice cream shop in the outdoor role play area. We found beautiful daffodils that had sprung open and we thought of things to build with the large construction pieces.

We enjoyed playing outside whilst it snowed down on us! There wasn't enough snow to make a snowman like we'd hoped but we still enjoyed pretending we were skating and trying to make snowballs. 

Today was National Internet Safety Day and Year 5 worked on a special project this year. We split into groups to plan and deliver a lesson to other classes in school about different aspects of Online Safety that were appropriate for the year group. The children took it very seriously and worked…

We all had a fun time playing in the snow...whilst it lasted!!
