Today 10 of us from Year 5 took part in a school cricket tournament at Torrisholme Cricket Club.  Although it was a very hot day everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm throughout.  We had not played cricket together as a team before and so it was a brilliant opportunity to develop skills such as bowling overarm and wicket keeping.  The organisers from Lancashire Cricket did a great job coaching us and everyone improved as the day went on.  We even had a bowler "on a hat trick" which is pretty impressive... We had some close matches, including a tie (very unusual in cricket!).  An especially big thanks to all parents who helped get us there and back, supported us while we were there and even provided much needed ice-lollies at the end!  The children were absolutely brilliant throughout, showing excellent attitude, perseverance and a great sporting attitude. Mrs Redmayne was very proud!
