Our PE this week has been a bit different as we had a visit from ‘Go Velo’ and had the chance to develop our cycling skills. The rain stayed away and we had a great time showing lots of enthusiasm and resilience.

Year 4 enjoyed an action packed day learning cycling skills with Go Velo! Everyone was amazing and had a fantastic attitude whether they were experienced cyclists or learning for the first time. Well done year 4, and thank you Go Velo!
 

Year 4 have had a fantastic afternoon playing Christmas dodgeball. They were fair and honest, showing great sportsmanship and teamwork. Well done Year 4!
 

Some of our Year 5 and 6 boys spent the day at Lancaster and Morecambe College, taking part in the inter schools tournament. We began our final day at Lockerbie with the challenge of packing our suitcases and sleeping bags before enjoying our final delicious breakfast. We all then learnt some volleyball skills on the field. Some of us had abseiling as our final activity, whilst one group had the challenge of initiative…

The day started with two groups doing archery and another learning to fence. We all had to work in teams at raft building in the afternoon, with great success. We also tackled some initiative exercises, learnt how to survive in the wilds and had a go at abseiling.

The rain held off for us this morning, whilst we all enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the lake. In the afternoon and evening we had a variety of activities to try out, including low ropes, crate stacking and axe throwing. 

The sun shone on us all day, as we climbed walls, built dens, negotiated the high ropes course and practised our aim in target shooting. We all took part in orienteering, with Mrs Anderson and Miss Huddleston narrowly winning (by one point!).

Year 6 set off for Lockerbie at lunchtime today. They have thrown themselves into the afternoon and evening’s activities with gusto, most of them ending the day covered in mud! 

This morning, we had the chance to play wheelchair basketball. It was great fun!

Our wonderful TA Mrs Winder is an expert in cheerleading and today taught us some moves and lifts.  We had a great time practising in groups. It needed good teamwork and focus.  She also told us all about the history of cheerleading in the USA.  Thank you Mrs Winder! We loved…

We had a great morning looking at the English game of Crown Green Bowling. We definitely improved our technique and became more confident with the rolling skill.
