We really enjoyed discussing which foods we should eat and shouldn’t eat as part of our ‘Brilliant Bodies, Brilliant Brains’ topic. We used our sense of ‘taste’ to try the delicious fruits and vegetables that the children brought in. We even had some avocados fresh from Nigeria !

We were investigating greater and less than numbers using lots of maths resources. 

We enjoyed a visit from the poet and author, Tony Peek today at school. He shared some of his poems and songs with us. We did some amazing fish dancing and laughed a lot. 

Well done to the children who represented Scotforth St Paul’s this week. We made it to the semi-finals!

The children enjoyed predicting what they could smell. It was interesting that some children thought it was chips when it was tomato sauce! 

We explored the school grounds to find out what happens in autumn. We went to the horse chestnut tree and spotted all the colours that the leaves are turning. We also picked up something that we could draw back in class. 

Today we explored the sense of touch by guessing which object was in my bag. The children did very well describing the materials so our friends could guess. 

We enjoyed having the Year 6 using their leadership skills this morning. They were showing us some of the playtime games that we could play at break time. 

We used our sense of sight to look closely at our faces. We chose the correct colours and discussed the features of our faces.

Thank you to Steve, who came in today, to speak to us about our bodies and keeping them healthy. We spoke about our body parts, healthy foods and how important sleep is too. Harold the giraffe needed our help with his feelings and we helped him. 

Wow! We thoroughly enjoyed dancing and dressing up as rock stars today. We came back with the important message of ‘Don’t give up!’ And we certainly didn’t. 

We have had a wonderful day discovering the different areas of the classroom. We have made some classroom rules for the year and loved catching up with our friends.
