Remembrance Day
Today we remembered all people and animals killed or injured by war. We wanted to put our poppies outside but due to the bad weather we made an arch to walk under instead.
Hard or soft?
After listening to the story of “Dogger” by Shirley Hughes we decided to find toys in Nursery that felt hard and soft.
Autumn 1
We have had a really bust first half term at Nursery. Come in and look at our learning journey before we take it down and start Autumn 2.
What’s inside?
We tried to guess what might be inside the pumpkin. We had excellent guesses including juice and seeds,
Autumn days
The children have been fascinated by the number of leaves collecting on our playground. We made our own tree using things we had found in the playground. We learnt some new vocabulary, trunk, branches, sticks and leaves.
Autumn

Our bodies
In Nursery this week we have been thinking about what is inside our bodies. We have felt our bones and looked at some real bones from animals. We now know that our bones are strong. We linked bones with the friendly skeletons in the story “Funnybones” and had great fun trying to guess what all the…
First week back
What a busy first week back. Steve came in with Harold the giraffe to talk about looking after our bodies.
Martin Mere 2025
What an exciting day. We saw lots of different birds including flamingos. Our favourite parts of the day were the stepping stones and the splash play area. We enjoyed our journey.
Our favourite part of the multicultural festival
We were so excited all afternoon after catching a glimpse of this. The sun shone as we watched the dance on the playground and learnt a little more about China.
Indonesian weaving
We have found out things about Indonesia this week. We have learnt that this is the only area in the world where Komodo dragons live in the wild. We had a go at weaving after looking at photos of children weaving cloth.
Delicious chips!
Thank you to Neptune, our local fish and chip shop who provided us with free chips. We were looking at food in England as part of our Multicultural week.
