We enjoyed making flowers out of clay. We manipulated the clay into different shapes, then chose our colours wisely. 

We had fun getting into time order. Some of us had am times and others pm. We found it wasn’t as easy as we first thought.

We went on a sensory walk today and brought our story to life. 

This week we have been talking about places we would like to visit and how we would get there. The children voted on their favourite place and wrote their name to show which they preferred. The top two places were soft play closely followed by swimming.

We enjoyed exploring about capacity in Y1. We predicted how many cups it takes to fill different containers.

In science on Wednesday, we used globes and torches to investigate why we have day and night. We followed the United Kingdom as the earth rotated and spoke about what part of the day it might be in different positions. 

 

Two teams of Year 6 netballers went to Moorside School this afternoon to take part in the inter-schools netball tournament. We came second and fifth, but most importantly we showed great teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.

On Tuesday we had a visit from Rocksteady. We had a whole school assembly where we learnt more about the instruments and what they can sound like, and afterwards a workshop where we created our own KS2 band!

In science, Mrs Dowson has been teaching us all about plants and their lifecycles and in geography we are learning all about plants of the rainforest and how they survive.  Today we drew and painted some hibiscus flowers using watercolour pencils.  We really enjoyed mixing colours and seeing how…
