Making healthy fruit kebabs
What a lot of fruit we had to share this afternoon! We made lovely healthy kebabs. The challenge was to try to make a repeating pattern with our favourite fruits.
Exploring nature in the woods.
We had a great time exploring in Dorrington Wood today. We used our senses to listen, look, feel and smell. We also collected leaves, seeds and something that felt rough.
Look who we met!
Today we met Harold the giraffe. He told us that food would give us energy. He talked about how important sleep was to help our bodies grow and repair themselves.
Visit from Life Education
We really enjoyed learning about what our bodies needed to stay healthy when Katy from the Life Education paid us a visit on Wednesday this week.
Decorating biscuits with our buddies.
We had a lovely time decorating biscuits and playing with our buddies.
Getting to know our Reception buddies
Today we helped our Reception buddies to ice and decorate a biscuit. After we had finished our decorating we were allowed to eat our creative masterpieces in the playground.
It has been lovely to get to know our new friends and we are looking forward to meeting up again very soon.
Caring for Me
We had a lovely morning with our friends from Nursery. We learned how to be safe in PE, how to brush our teeth correctly and used the special Glitterbug to check we were washing our hands effectively.
Looking after myself
This morning we met the reception children and found out how to look after our teeth. We found out how to brush all the different surfaces and got to take a new toothbrush home.
Two days of dancing!
On Tuesday we had a fantastic session with the Rock Kidz group. We danced along to songs about how good it is to be us. On Wednesday Nicola led our first Diddi dance session. We love moving to music.
First Day in Reception
We had a great day settling into Reception playing with some old friends and making new ones.
Finding out about prayer
Today we had a look in the prayer “chatterbox.” The children know that I invite them to talk to God when we are praying. Inside the box were prayer books, a candle and prayer beads. The children handled each object carefully.
We love stories!
We love listening to stories in Nursery and acting them out. Everyone wanted to be Handa today and try to carry a basket of fruit on their head. We are holding on with just one hand and keeping an eye out for cheeky, hungry animals.
