We have been investigating what happens to solids when they are heated or cooled. We have heated chocolate, butter, wax, ice, jelly, bread and an egg to see whether they changed state and we recorded our results.

We have been looking at solids, liquids and gases and their properties. We had lots of fun using the Easi-scopes to look at magnified particles in ‘solids that behave like liquids’. 

We have been experimenting with different sized vehicles and tubes. We tried to predict which vehicles would fit down which tube. We tried out our predictions.

Today in Year 3, we have been investigating what happens to a shadow when the light source moves further away.

We have been using classification keys to identify living things. We completed them both in groups and individually.

We have been looking at different ways to group animals and have sorted them using Venn diagrams. We discussed lots of different ways to classify them.

Today we learnt all about the digestive system and in particular the stomach.  We learnt that sometimes the stomach needs to get rid of food that could be harmful to the body.  Trigger warning!  Do not watch the video if you are squeamish!
