In computing we are learning to encode, send and decode messages in our Cryptography unit. Using flags is difficult and it was like learning a whole new language.

Investigating seeds in fruits

We have been comparing the seeds in different fruits this week in Science. We looked at size, shape, colour and number. Next lesson we will be looking at how seeds are dispersed.

Multiplying 2 digit numbers

We have been using Base 10 and place value counters to help us multiply 2 digit numbers. Using this apparatus meant we could see when exchanges needed to be made.

Maya coil pots

We have designed our own Maya pots using pictures, hieroglyphs and colours from the period.

Investigating craters on the moon.

Today in Science we have planned and carried out our own investigations. 
Using balls as rocks we tested whether larger rocks created larger craters. 
Some of us chose to investigate whether the height the rock (ball) fell from changed the crater size.

Clay tiles in the style of the Maya

Today in Art we have designed and started to make our own clay tiles in the style of the Maya Civilisation. We created 4 symbols to represent us as individuals and incorporated these into a clay tile. When they are dry we will paint them.
