Badminton skills continued
Today we have used our new badminton nets in PE. We have practised serving the shuttlecock and worked on keeping a rally going with our partner for as long as possible.
Walking through the Bible
Sooty and Ruth, from Sportsreach, started our Walk through the Bible sessions this week. So far we have learnt about creation through to Isaac with actions to help us along the way.
It will be interesting to see how much we can remember as we add more actions week by week.
Year 6 “Secret War” experience

Introducing badminton to Year 6
This morning, Year 6 had their first taste of badminton. We learnt how to hold the racket, the ready position and then attempted to hit the shuttlecock and return it to our partners! We worked really well together in pairs.
Football Fun
Today it was the boys’ turn to go along to Lancaster and Morecambe College for their tournament. There were 25 schools represented and our team of Y6 boys worked really well as a team. They won two games in their pool, drew one and lost one, narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter finals.

Forces Escape Room
This half term we have been learning all about forced in year 6. Today, we braved the rain and completed 10 puzzles hidden around school to give us 10 digits to let us escape out of our “locked in” scenario!

Levers and Pulleys
Today we investigated pulleys and levers. We found that using multiple pulleys meant less work was required to lift a 1kg mass. We also found that moving a pivot on a lever changed how much mass was required to lift an object.
Open Doors Charity
Year 6s found out about Christians around the world and how tough things can be in countries where Christians are persecuted. They played a game which taught them about some of the ways Open Doors helps these Christians.
