A Snowy Break Time!
We had a lovely break time today playing in the snow. We made snowballs, snow angels, snow men and lots of other creative ideas!
We could barely hold our excitement when we saw the snow falling outside so you can imagine what we were like when we were finally outside!

This morning, we were sorting 2D shapes. We have sorted them using their properties - amount of sides, amount of vertices, colour.
Simple circuits
We began our unit on ‘Electricity’ today. We discussed appliances that use either mains or battery powered electricity or both and then sorted them into a Venn diagram. We also looked at all the components that make up a simple circuit and used these to create a circuit with a bulb that lit up.

Factor bugs
In Maths, Year 4 have been learning about factor pairs. We have made some colourful factor bugs to help us remember the pairs. These are on our Maths working wall so we can use them to solve more complicated multiplication calculations.

Year 6 carol singing at Ashton Manor
Year 6 braved the weather this afternoon to visit Ashton Manor to sing carols to the residents. Both the children and the residents enjoyed themselves, and there was even a surprise visit from Father Christmas who brought us some delicious cookies and drinks as we chatted after our singing.
