What a fantastic concert today. Our rock stars performed brilliantly and the audience of children and parents were awestruck by the confidence of the children who have been receiving Rock Steady lessons. Well done everyone!

Today, Year 4 started learning to play the recorder. We learnt how to hold the recorder, how to blow softly and the fingering for the notes b and a. Today, Y4 walked to the Ashton Hall in Lancaster to see the new Mayor, Abi Mills, being elected. It was a privilege to be invited and we were asked to sing during the ceremony too. We sang beautifully and were given lots of compliments by the people there. 

Year 6 braved the weather this afternoon to visit Ashton Manor to sing carols to the residents. Both the children and the residents enjoyed themselves, and there was even a surprise visit from Father Christmas who brought us some delicious cookies and drinks as we chatted after our singing.

This afternoon, Year 6 went to Chirnside House to help Rev Catherine with her Christmas Carol service for the residents. We sang carols and some of us also read the Bible readings. When we had finished, we had the chance to chat to the residents before walking back to school.
