Year 6 braved the weather this afternoon to visit Ashton Manor to sing carols to the residents. Both the children and the residents enjoyed themselves, and there was even a surprise visit from Father Christmas who brought us some delicious cookies and drinks as we chatted after our singing.

This afternoon, Year 6 went to Chirnside House to help Rev Catherine with her Christmas Carol service for the residents. We sang carols and some of us also read the Bible readings. When we had finished, we had the chance to chat to the residents before walking back to school.

This afternoon, we went out into the playground to do some composing.

We have been practising hard (at school and at home) on our ukeleles and, so far, have learnt the chords of C and F.  Next week we will go on to the chord of G and then we will be able to play loads of songs!!  Have a listen to see how we're getting on.

Year 4 had their Cats drama lesson on Tuesday. They performed to two of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s songs, Macavity the Mystery Cat and Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat. They dressed up and made themselves masks to get into role.  During Macavity they paused to join in with the repeating lines. Using PE…

Today the children took part in the Lancaster and District Schools’ Singing Festival at the Ashton Hall in Lancaster. They sang beautifully, remembered all the words and actions and even learnt some sign language too. What a credit to the school they all were. Well done Y4, we are really proud of…

In music we have been learning about Hip Hop and particularly the song ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. Year 4 are enjoying a series of workshops led by Ludus Dance and More Music in Morecambe. We have learnt all about germs and how they affect our bodies.
