Today in Computing we have been sending messages using Morse code. We wrote messages to a friend before using light from a torch to send messages. At the end of the lesson we tried using Morse Code Keyer online. It was really tricky.

We have been investigating seeds dispersed by the wind. We made helicopters using paper and added a paper clip seed. We changed either the length or width of the propeller blades but made sure that everything else stayed the same. We made sure we repeated each test 3 times and then found the mean…

Look at our finished bread rolls. Hopefully they will taste as good as they look and smell. Well done to all our budding bakers. 

Today we have been making bread rolls using a basic recipe. Now that we know the ingredients we need and how to combine them, we can use this to help us design our own bread next lesson. 
 

In computing we are learning to encode, send and decode messages in our Cryptography unit. Using flags is difficult and it was like learning a whole new language.

We have been comparing the seeds in different fruits this week in Science. We looked at size, shape, colour and number. Next lesson we will be looking at how seeds are dispersed.

We have been using Base 10 and place value counters to help us multiply 2 digit numbers. Using this apparatus meant we could see when exchanges needed to be made. 

Today we painted our clay tiles. Each symbol we used means something personal to us as individuals.

We have designed our own Maya pots using pictures, hieroglyphs and colours from the period. 
Yesterday Miss Huddleston came to teach us how to make the pots from clay. We used coils to create the sides and slip to join the coils together. When the pots are dry we will add our designs. We had a…

Today in Science we have planned and carried out our own investigations. 
Using balls as rocks we tested whether larger rocks created larger craters. 
Some of us chose to investigate whether the height the rock (ball) fell from changed the crater size. 

Today in Art we have designed and started to make our own clay tiles in the style of the Maya Civilisation. We created 4 symbols to represent us as individuals and incorporated these into a clay tile. When they are dry we will paint them. 

Today in Science we have been finding out about day and night and how they occur. In pairs one of us was the Sun and the other the Earth. As Earth spun on its own axis we watched the Sun appear and day begin. England was warmed and lit by the Sun all day before night fell and it grew darker and…
