Year 5 share rhymes with their buddies
Today we met with our Reception buddies to read, sing, sign and act out Nursery Rhymes to celebrate National Poetry Day. We had a lot of fun even though the weather was miserable.

We explored the sense of hearing by going on a listening walk. We heard lots of different noises in our local area. Our favourite was the bird singing!

Number recognition
We have been thinking more about the numbers to 100. Today we practised making different numbers using the Base 10 equipment. Mrs Cross then asked us to add or take away different amounts of tens or ones.
Introducing the greater than and less than signs < = >
We started using the greater than, less than and equals signs < = > to compare numbers.
Comparing Numbers
We chose numbers and compared the amounts using the vocabulary, “greater than, less than and equal to”.
Acting out Goldilocks
We have been acting out the story of Goldilocks. We have some fantastic little actors in the class!
