Here we are drawing a tree.  We thought about how we know what the tree is and decided the leaves give us the best clue.

This afternoon, we were learning about the abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky as part of our ‘pattern and colour’ Art unit. We tried to recreate a piece of his artwork - Squares with Concentric Circles.

Year 4 have started their new Art topic based on the Spanish artist Antoni Gaudi. These are some of our initial drawings. We will be making collages next.

As part of our topic about growing, we have learnt a new nursery rhyme. We looked at some real cockle shells and laid our flowers and shells in a row like Mary did. We found out that pretty maids and silver bells are flowers. Later on this term we will be planting our own seeds and watering them.

We have chosen 3 objects from home to create a still life picture to reflect us as individuals.

We have enjoyed looking and learning about the french artist Henri Matisse. We have copied his style and explored making our own collages and a group collage. 
 

In RE we have been investigating why Christians see Easter as a victory. This week we have looked at some artwork which represents victory in the Easter story and then we made our own pieces of art. We also listened to some Easter hymns and songs and added some of their lyrics to our art. Can you…

We really hope you all liked your Mother’s Day cards. We spent lots of time and care making them for such special people.

Year 6 have been creating special interactive cards for their mums on Mothering Sunday, linked to our current worship theme of kindness. They made posies of paper flowers using folding and cutting techniques then wrote acts of kindness on each stem which they will carry out for their mums.…

Happy Mother’s Day to all our lovely mums. Our cards were made using the skills of snipping around a circle and tearing paper to make the petals. We hope you’ve all had a fun day.

Today the children were tasked with collecting objects from the garden and making pictures with them. 

Year 4 have been using their Art and DT skills to make Chinese dragons ready to celebrate 2022 The Year of the Tiger.
